Nowadays, loans, disbursed by non-banking financial institutions, are beginning to gain more and more popularity in Bulgaria. Since the supervision of the activities of non-banking financial institutions is considerably less strict than the regulatory control of banks, it is very common for the personal loan contracts, as well as their general terms and conditions, to contain unlawful clauses and/or hidden “traps”.
